Readers, the fourth edition of The Crapper - where I dump all the stuff that doesn't fit elsewhere...
- Lord of the Rings!! - So by now you all know the first dorkiest thing about me - my unhealthy obsession with the Internet. I mean, I love it. What you might not know is the second dorkiest thing about me - my unhealthy obsession with Lord of the Rings. That's right! I'm out of the closet baby! The LOTR films (oh yeah, we're using acronyms), are pretty much the only movies that I will stop to watch on some random television channel, complete with commercials and all. I even saw ROTK (Return of the King for you lay people) in the theatre twice, which I nevvvver do. I mean, how good are these movies? They're pretty much the best thing ever
- Dustbusters - I recently purchased a Dustbuster, and it's changed my life. Initially I thought that the purchase of such an expensive home cleaning item (like $35!) signaled the true beginning of my adult life. But, after a month or two I realized that the Dustbuster is actually extending my collegiate years because while my cleaning is truly effortless, Dustbusting has now taken the place of sweeping and Swiffer Wet Jetting. So while I'm sucking up exponentially more dust, my apartment is probably less clean than it used to be. Tru dat!
- The Hills - Oh my god. This show is SO bad. I just watched the final two episodes of the season on DVR and it was just shocking. I mean, most of the main players are legally brain dead, and elements are so obviously scripted and badly acted that it makes me want to jump out a window. The good news is that these points, combined with the unexplainable existence of Justin Bobby, have almost overshadowed Spencer's total and utter douchebaggery. (Though his "I gave you a beautiful mural and you gave me a white wall" line will live on forever in my heart.)
- Lord of The Rings, Redux - I'm not done raving. I was just trying to think of what my favorite scene in the trilogy is. I know it involves Gandalf The White, but after that it's like asking a mother to pick her favorite child. Is it in Two Towers when Gandalf sneaks his staff past the guards to free the King of Rohan from Wormtongue's* clutches? Is it in ROTK when Gandalf rides out to save the riders returning to Minas Tirith from the river embankment? I'll have to look east on the third day on this one, maybe my favorite scene will come to me... or maybe it's just Gandalf winning the battle of Helm's Deep! Booya!
*Edit 12/17: Props to commenter JRT for correcting me - LOTR is Wormtongue, not Wormtail (that's Harry Potter). I'm so ashamed at my confusion.
