Google 411 - buh bye directory assistance?

MarketingVox reports that Google Labs is launching Google 411. A consumer can call in, and the service automatically detects where the call is coming from and tailors the response to the locale. Results can be received via text or voice.

I'm already a big fan of Google's free 411 texting service (text your inquiry to GOOGLE and you get a response back in under a minute), so I'll be curious to see how this turns out. While some may decry this as Google's latest attempt to take over the world, I see it as Google, once again, doing it better, faster, and freer (is that a word?) than everyone else.
